Renee Mallett

Ms. Mallett works with small companies, universities, and government labs providing assistance with business development planning, marketing, negotiation, and licensing of intellectual property (patentable and non-patentable research products). Prior to joining Foresight, Renee was Associate Director and Interim Director of The University of Texas at Austin Office of Technology Licensing. Her responsibilities included evaluating, marketing, licensing intellectual property, and oversight of patenting and copyright activities. She also worked in technology development and commercialization for Iowa State University at the Center for Advanced Technology Development. Renee has negotiated, drafted, and closed IP agreements for technologies such as: cancer therapeutic drugs, diagnostic device technology, lithography production equipment, large motor evaluation and diagnostic technology, Copyright licenses for distribution of educational products, technology for the treatment of skin anomalies, membrane separation technology to a major oil company, and an active suspension technology to a major defense firm (to name a few). Renee also served as Chair of the Education Committee Vice President's Commercialization Task Force and managed the Ames area region of the Small Business Development Center program, which included understanding and interpreting specific problems in local economic development needs and issues.
