Joseph C. Gennaro

Senior Consultant, BA Math & Economics. PhD Astrophysics

Dr. Gennaro is an inventor, researcher, consultant, and analyst with experience in a variety of areas, including experimental physics research, finance, startup formation and fundraising, and therapeutic and diagnostic development. He is also an experienced SBIR grant author and PI, an adept data analyst, and has four patents in microfluidics and assay development. 

As an investment banking analyst and sales analyst at a Johnson & Johnson subsidiary, Joe gained insight into the sales, marketing, strategy, and valuation side of startups, mid-size companies, and large public companies. Joe conducted his astrophysics research at the University of Michigan and was a member of the 2011-2012 CREST Antarctic expedition to launch a NASA-balloon-borne electron telescope.  

Upon returning to New Haven, CT in 2020, he embarked on a serial entrepreneurship career, working on multiple spin outs in spatial multi-omics, infectious disease, and diagnostics. Joe excels at team-building, tech-building and MVP development, communication and collaboration between technical and non-technical team members, and has a knack for engaging with customers and early adopters to discover market need, optimize product development, and drive early revenue growth.
