Arendt Oak Speser, Ph.D., returns to Foresight as CEO after serving in higher education for many years and co-founding an independent publishing company (Andante Books). Dr. Speser has held multiple positions at Foresight including Director of Marketing, Director of Training, and Technology Analyst. He has worked with multiple US agencies such as the NIH, USDA, DOE, and EPA, along with US government labs, research universities, and private companies. He has also supported contracts for NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, working on the technology transfer magazine The Spark (formerly Tech Transfer News) and the official archive of the Hubble Telescope. Most recently, Dr. Speser has been supporting the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) on a multi-phase contract to develop an online toolkit and training material for New Product Development to be used globally.

In addition to his academic and entrepreneurial experience, Dr. Speser has served as the Executive Director of a nonprofit organization and been involved in many cultural initiatives in the United States and abroad. He is a writer, editor, publisher, and curator who maintains an active role in the creative arts.

Dr. Speser is currently based in Rome, Italy, where he will help expand Foresight into European and other international markets. Dr. Speser received a Ph.D., English Literature & Language (University of Washington, Seattle), M.A., English Literature & Language (University of Washington, Seattle), and B.A. Philosophy (Haverford College, PA). He continues to study intellectual history and the interaction between culture, innovation, and economy. In his free time, Arendt enjoys traveling, hiking, 35mm photography, and cooking.
