Dr. John H. Hallman brings a passion for chemistry, emerging technology, product development, field application and technology evaluation and transfer. In his 30 years in the oil and gas, specialty chemical and water treatment industries, he has held positions in product management, research, technical service, division management and strategic technology, and has worked across the world with companies from startups to SBIR grantees to major corporations.
John spent 7 years leading a group that identified and evaluated new technologies for transfer, developed internal strategies and technology roadmaps, and assessed trends in markets and technology in oil and gas. During that time, Mr. Hallman developed a technology portfolio assessment and project proposal evaluation tool for the CTO, and coordinated high level customer needs assessments and collaboration initiatives. He also handled university interactions for R&D, including serving as the liaison for the 5-year, $5 million investment in the MIT Energy Initiative.
Dr. Hallman holds a Ph.D. in physical organic chemistry (solution thermodynamics) from the University of Houston, a B.S. in chemistry from Ursinus College, and is halfway through a Master’s Degree in Land Resources and Environmental Science at Montana State University. He holds 7 US patents, numerous trade publications, and has presented at numerous conferences and trade shows.
