Dalena Kensington is an experienced portfolio director and technology commercialization consultant with a background rooted in product management, leading strategy teams and public relations for niche leaders including Apple, Biodesign Institute, Skysong Innovations, and CNN International.
Kensington currently manages the Research Technology Office portfolio at Arizona State University and serves as lead project manager for ASU’s Quantum Computing Initiative. Bridging media, technology, and agriculture, Kensington started her career in media first as a producer then transitioning into audience development, online news product development, and data monetization. Kensington has served as pre-acquisition audience development and monetization strategist to digital media startups that were acquired by legacy media, software as a service (SaaS) companies and early-stage AgTech and natural resources focused startups. Additionally, Kensington has managed grant administration for anaerobic digestion, landfill to gas and wastewater energy efficiency projects.
Kensington holds a Master of Science in Information Systems Management from the W.P. Carey School of Business and a Six Sigma Black Belt from Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University. She holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Agriculture and Science Journalism from the University of Missouri where she served as a teaching assistant at the Missouri School of Journalism. Kensington is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), holds several IT certifications, and is a member of the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM).
