Consultant Spotlight #1: David McClure & Denise LaGasse

Consultant spotlight featuring two professionals

In each edition of the FST newsletter, we will feature one of our Senior Consultants who helps Foresight provide excellent service to our clients. For this inaugural edition, we thought it fitting to begin our Spotlight with TWO Senior Consultants, both of whom have been with Foresight for over twenty years and developed a friendship rooted in shared professional values and a passion for music.

David McClure started working for Foresight in 2004, and Denise LaGasse in 2003. Both attorneys, they decided to use their legal backgrounds to strengthen technology transfer and commercialization in the US innovation ecosystem. They share a deep commitment to client relationships and making sure their work creates meaningful impact. Whether assessing regulatory issues in drug development or helping companies construct compelling go-to-market strategies, David and Denise understand the value of experience and wisdom when solving problems across the commercialization value chain.

Throughout their long tenures, David and Denise have brought deep technical and regulatory expertise to some of the most complex challenges in technology transfer and product commercialization. David’s career spans leadership roles in drug, device, and diagnostic development, guiding companies through FDA strategy, IP value creation, and successful licensing of novel therapeutics. Denise has drawn on her industry experience at Hewlett Packard and her work at Massachusetts General Hospital to advise on software, bioinformatics, and medical device innovation. Their combined experience across regulatory affairs, intellectual property, and licensing has helped clients navigate critical decisions from early-stage evaluation to market entry, reflecting the breadth and rigor they each bring to the Foresight team.

Aside from their respective professional careers and countless projects with Foresight, we find their story so compelling because they have developed a genuine friendship despite never meeting in person! Even before remote work became so common in the contemporary workplace, our Senior Consultants have always operated remotely; opportunities to connect over work, ongoing projects, and the sharing of best practices have been a boon for career development and for establishing camaraderie outside a traditional office. For David and Denise, their friendship became more sonorous as they discussed a mutual love of music and music performance. With David playing the violin and Denise the piano, there have been plenty of opportunities to riff together over the years.
